"Greek Beach by the river Thames"

Greek tourism is currently being projected on a commercial section of the Thames River, in an event titled "Greek Beach by the Thames" that will run through June 27.

In a specially designed space, visitors are offered the opportunity to relax on sun beds, taste Greek recipes and beverages, enter competitions to win trips to Greece and Greek products, dance to the rhythms of traditional and contemporary Greek music, create sand sculptures, play in beach soccer, beach rackets and beach volley tournaments, and engage in face painting and other activities.

Greece beats Nigeria 2-1

Greece achieved its first win in a final stage of the World Cup, beating Nigeria 2-1 in a Group B game played in Bloemfontein on Thursday and has hopes of qualifying for the next stage of the competition, since it is in second place with South Korea.

Kalu Uche put Nigeria ahead in the 16', but Greece turned the game with goals by Dimitris Salpingidis 44' and Vassilis Torosidis 71'. Nigeria was left with 10 men in the 33' after Sani Kaita was sent off.

Scorpions for a big concert in Patra

The heavy metal group Scorpions Is coming tomorrow in Patras, as at Weds day will give a big concert in Pampeloponisiako stadium.

"Blue" flags on the beaches of western Greece

The international symbol of quality known as "blue" flag would be blowing this summer in a total of sixteen beaches of western Greece.

Οι «Γαλάζιες» σημαίες στις παραλίες της Δυτικής Ελλάδας
Το διεθνές σύμβολο ποιότητας το γνωστό και ως «γαλάζια» σημαία θα ανεμίζει αυτό το καλοκαίρι σε συνολικά δεκαέξι παραλίες της Δυτικής Ελλάδας.
Μάλιστα, για πρώτη φορά "Γαλάζια Σημαία" θα δούμε και στην Πλαζ της Πάτρας, που πριν από μερικές ημέρες υποδέχθηκε το «Super Rally» της Harley Daviddson.
Η «Γαλάζια Σημαία» είναι διεθνές σύμβολο ποιότητας, το πιο γνωστό, ίσως, περιβαλλοντικό σύμβολο στον κόσμο, και απονέμεται από το 1987 σε όσες ακτές και μαρίνες πληρούν τις αυστηρές προϋποθέσεις του.
Δεν αρκεί οι ακτές να διαθέτουν μόνο την επιθυμητή ποιότητα των νερών κολύμβησης. Πρέπει να τηρούνται τα 29 συνολικά κριτήρια, που αναφέρονται σε καθαριότητα, οργάνωση, πληροφόρηση, ασφάλεια λουομένων και επισκεπτών και προστασία του περιβάλλοντος της ακτής και του παράκτιου χώρου.
Σε όλη την Ελλάδα βραβεύτηκαν 421 ακτές. Η Ελλάδα κατετάγη δεύτερη σε γαλάζιες σημαίες μεταξύ 41 χωρών από όλο τον κόσμο.
